changehub innovation centre

Change Hub Innovation Centre is a startup social enterprise based in Nairobi, Kenya. We run innovation and learning spaces to bring to our learners high quality, competency oriented and technology based learning. We emphasize design thinking, design for development, prototyping and problem framing among other approaches that help learners move from the theoretical into the practical side of designing and making things for themselves. In addition, we offer training on entrepreneurship and film making.

class in progress

Within our “makerspaces” the content is student-centered and over time student led. In the last one year of operation we have established a makerspace at Lang’ata Women’s Maximum Security Prison in Nairobi, Kenya.
This space brings design education to women who are often overlooked and stigmatized in the society. Most people in correction institutes especially women have been left behind in terms of technology. we believe by giving out these opportunities in return they can support themselves and their families.
We are currently based in langata women prison. we have plans to roll out to all major correction centres
